I , we embarked upon this venture with very little experience within the realm of building webpages and marketing. This has been a very intimidating task that was undertaken with two very important concepts in mind.
The first concept was to find a way to improve our financial state, thusly the site name "Poor Man's Portal" emerged into the light. We knew that this would be very hard work since our knowledge of the marketing side of the internet was "lacking" to say the least. We also knew we didn't have the financial where with all to buy into the expensive programs offered out there up front.
We aren't knocking anyone who sucessfully operates and markets such ventures. We are probably advertising some of them. Some look very promising, we just didn't have it to put out there and left it open for the day we could afford it. So, possibly like you we found that there is a way to do it on a shoe string, which most likely isn't the easy way; if one exists!
The second concept was to give back. Give advice and help to those who were struggling, and needed motivation, a ray of sun or just that one thought found in an obscure website that would help. Form a website and network of potential for everyone to profit from, since our only interests are to improve our family's quality of life and the lives of those who support and guide us. A means to develop new connections and show gratittude, not prey upon the economic weaknesses that plague so many now.
Having said that, we would love to work with you. Exchange ideas, content, links and anything else that would be mutually beneficial. If you have a desire to succeed, an idea you need to help get traffic to or just a fledgling website you need to get going, drop us an email at the address below and tell us. We will advertise your site, provide content as we can (we're not professional journalists so be objective!) as long as you agree to list our site(s). And if nothing else drop us a note just to tell us some one found our page! - All free of charge! (Well maybe a picture of you and your kids at Disney Land when you make it big! :))
